About Us

Welcome to the Dragon's Den!

Our main goal is to make efforts to introduce less-common populations to the world of ethical animal raising, show them it's importance, and foster a safe and welcoming community. It is our strong belief that we should invest in the longevity of raising dogs as a hobby. Although times have changed, there are still many communities that don't feel they are allowed in ethical dog spaces due to prejudices. We here at the Dragon's Den feel these struggles on a daily bases as our program is lead by an AFAB POC. Being raised problem solvers, Dragon's Den Australian Shepherds was created to facilitate community building, uplift marginalized owners, and invest in our future.

The Standard Australian Shepherd is the ideal vessel to build this community. Their tenacity is something no other breed can match. If you want to get involved in a new dog community, you need a dog that's going to motivate you to participate as much as you need a community to start with. Aussies are a very strategic introduction into the world of dogs. First time owners get to experience a reasonably challenging grooming experience, a dog ready to work with you, a personality fit for a dragon, and an amazing companion at the end of the day. It is our belief that owning an Aussie dips owners enough into most aspects of dog ownership which then sets the owner up for success in other breeds as well. Choosing Aussies was an intentional act to give my owners success past the work this program does and encourages growth in our owners. In summary, having a foundation in Aussies gives you a well-rounded experience of dog ownership that offers future growth.

With educating and bringing in new ethical ownership, my goals are to foster and build relationships with future buyers. All some people lack to start showing or sporting is familiarity. One way we can limit that as breeders/producers of ethically bred animals is to support our buyers from the beginning. Every life we produce, pet or performance, to give owners access to a network of support and community. Every life is on our hands to ensure that it flourishes, and that is a constant effort from all parties.

Dragon's Den Australian Shepherds will only produce lives with natural tails and dew claws. If this is a deal breaker for you and your desired experience of ownership, please seek out a breeder whom you feel better represents your ideal image of ownership.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of support do you offer buyers/owners?

All owners will sign a contract covering many avenues of dog ownership and our relationship to each other and the dog. Past the standard contract, you are given unlimited access to a new community of owners. Want a buddy for puppy classes? Scared to go to a dog show alone? Wondering if anyone wants to try a new sport for the first time? Need some pointers? We are here to help as best as we can. DDen doesn't have all of the answers, but we will always foster discussion and intercommunity aid between owners. We will always be in your corner and hope to introduce you to others who will fight for you too.

How long does your breeder support last?

For the entire life of the dog and possibly on. You will have us behind you the entire way, from even before conception to very end.

Do I have to be a member of your owner network if I purchase a dog from you?

YES. This is nonnegotiable. You are not obligated to show or sport your dog, but I require you to be willing to be in contact with me for the entirety of the dogs life. If you have more questions about this lets discuss this, this conversation has a lot of nuance and one sentence here can't cover it all.

What if the involvement is too much for me?

Go somewhere else. I would love to convince you to choose this program, but I refuse to bend my base requirements to make a sale.

How do I get on your waitlist?

Our waitlist to purchase a life from our program is invite only. If you are interested in becoming a part of the program, please reach out to dragonsdenaussies@gmail.com to discuss your interest and to learn about the projected timeline for our program. If you are a good fit for our upcoming plans, you will be extended an offer to get on a waitlist as it's being made.

About the Breeder

Hello!

My name is Cierra, but you may know me as Saturn as well. I am a young mind in the world of dogs, but my age pales in comparison to my dedication. My dogs are my life, a very typical sentence but true nonetheless. I grew up in rural Central Pennsylvania surrounded by farms and small business. I have dedicated my academic life to changing the world through communication, receiving my Communication degree from Drexel University with a minor in Politics. Combining my love of dogs and my desire to make an impact, I have decided to commit to building this program. I will spend the rest of my life building this program and the next generation of ethical dog owners up.

Aside from dogs, I am an avid and self-proclaimed nerd. I work professionally in fine art and craft and participate in an online gaming league. Through my work I have gained a strong desire to serve marginalized communities and heighten their involvement in the world. To my core, I believe my purpose in life is to rebuild community connections that we miss so much in current society. I have large dreams, but I've decided that I owe it to myself to try and make them real.

Don't be shy! -Cierra
